Choose the Epson EcoTank L18050 if…
you need A3 or A3+ prints: posters, certificates, large photos, menus or designs for customers. For a print shop or studio selling large prints, the extra size earns its cost.

What's the same?
According to Epson, both printers share:
- 6-colour photo ink (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan, light magenta) for smoother skin tones and gradients than a 4-colour printer.
- The same print speed: about 8 pages a minute (ISO) on A4.
- CD, DVD and PVC ID card printing, popular with photo studios and ID card businesses.
- Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and USB.
- Print only: neither has a scanner or copier. If you need to copy or scan, budget for a separate all-in-one.
What's different?
- Paper size: the L8050 prints up to A4; the L18050 up to A3+ (borderless).
- Size and weight: the L18050 is wider and heavier (about 8 kg against 6 kg).
- Price: the L18050 typically costs well over the L8050. Check the live prices above.
At A4, the two produce the same quality. The L18050 is only worth it if you'll print bigger.
Which ink do they take in Ghana?
Both use the same six ink bottles, but the code depends on where the printer was made for:
- Epson 108: for units sold officially in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
- Epson 057: for Asian units, which are common in Ghanaian shops.
Ask the seller which ink the printer takes and make sure all six colours are easy to buy near you before you pay. Current prices are in our printer ink price list.
Is a photo printer right for your business?
These printers shine for photo studios, ID card and passport photo businesses, and designers. For everyday documents, a cheaper all-in-one ink tank or a laser printer costs less to run. If you're setting up a print shop, see what it costs to start a printing business in Ghana.
Before you pay
Before you buy a printer: what to check
A cheap printer can be expensive to own. A few minutes of checking now saves money every month afterwards.
Check the cost of ink or toner, not just the printer. Find the cartridge or bottle it uses, look up its price and how many pages it prints, and work out the cost per page.
Match the printer to what you print. Mostly black and white documents suit a laser printer; colour, photos and mixed use suit an ink tank. Need to scan and copy too? Get an all-in-one.
Make sure it's genuine and new. Ask whether the box is sealed and whether the starter ink or toner is included. Prices far below other sellers are a warning sign.
Ask about the warranty and who honours it. Keep the receipt and check whether the seller or a local service partner handles repairs.
Check how you'll connect. USB only, or Wi-Fi and phone printing? Confirm before buying if several people will share it.
If it will sit unused for weeks, think twice about inkjet. Ink can dry in the print head. A laser printer copes better with occasional use.
