DTF printing cost per shirt calculator

Prices checked

Short answer

The cost of a DTF-printed shirt is the blank shirt plus the transfer (film, ink and powder) plus a share of power, labour and machine wear. In October 2026, the cheapest supplies we found in Ghana were A3 DTF film at about GH₵2.00 a sheet (in 100-sheet packs), DTF ink from GH₵140 a litre and hot-melt powder from GH₵75 a kilo. How far each litre and kilo goes depends on your designs, so measure your own usage and put it in the calculator.

Film, ink and powder prices come from our October 2026 price index. Prints per litre, prints per kilo, the shirt, overheads and selling price are example figures: replace them with your own.

How the cost adds up

With the example figures above, film costs GH₵2.00, ink GH₵1.40 and powder GH₵0.75 per transfer, so the transfer comes to GH₵4.15. Add a GH₵35 blank shirt and GH₵3 for power and labour, and each shirt costs GH₵42.15. In most DTF businesses the blank shirt is the biggest single cost, so where you buy shirts matters as much as which ink you use.

The ink figure is the one to measure carefully. Large designs and dark garments need more white ink, which raises the cost per print. Track how many transfers each litre and each kilo of powder gives you for a few weeks, then price your shirts from real numbers.

Questions people ask

How much does DTF printing cost per shirt in Ghana?

The transfer itself (film, ink and powder) usually costs far less than the blank shirt. Add the shirt, power, labour and machine wear to get your true cost per shirt. Use the calculator with your own ink and powder usage, because it varies with design size and how much white ink a design needs.

How do I work out ink cost per DTF print?

Divide the price of a litre of ink by the number of transfers you got from it. The easiest way to find that number is to note the date you open a new bottle and count the prints until it runs out.

How can I reduce DTF printing costs?

Gang several small designs onto one sheet of film, buy ink and powder in larger packs once you trust a supplier, keep the printer running regularly so heads don't clog, and store powder dry and film flat to avoid wasted transfers.

How much is DTF film in Ghana?

In our latest prices, A3 DTF film was sold in packs of 100 sheets and on rolls. Divide the pack price by the number of sheets to get the cost per transfer sheet. See current prices on our DTF supplies page.
