Before you pay
Before you buy a sublimation printer: what to check
Many 'sublimation printers' in Ghana are converted ink tank printers. That can work well, as long as you know what you're buying.
Ask whether it's a converted printer and what was changed. Converted printers should be new and filled only with sublimation ink. Ask about the warranty, since conversion can void the maker's.
Remember sublimation only works on light polyester. It's great for mugs, jerseys and polyester fabrics, but not cotton or dark garments.
Factor in a heat press and paper. You'll need sublimation paper and a heat press to transfer prints. Budget for both.
Ask for a sample print. Check colours and sharpness on the product you plan to sell.
