How we make money

Print Compare is free for buyers. We are paid by vendors in some or all of these ways:

• Introduction fees when we pass a vendor a quote request from someone who asked for quotes.
• Commission on some sales or leases that follow an introduction.
• Featured listings, which are always labelled as featured or sponsored.
• Affiliate links to online shops for some home and small-office printers. We earn a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you.

What money can't buy

• A place in our price index or a change to a price. Prices are what we saw on sale, with the source linked.
• A better verdict in a guide or comparison.
• Your details, unless you asked for quotes and ticked the box agreeing to share them with up to three vendors.

How we choose vendors

Before we introduce anyone, we check that a vendor has a real showroom or workshop, can service the machines it sells, and agrees to treat the customers we send fairly. If customers tell us a vendor didn't, we stop sending them work.
