Short answer
Why availability matters more than the brand name
All the major brands make good machines. What usually decides whether you're happy with a printer in Ghana isn't the logo, it's what happens after you buy: can you buy the right toner or ink nearby, and can a technician fix it quickly?
So before choosing a brand, check that its supplies for your exact model are sold where you are, and ask who services it. Our price index shows which models and supplies Ghanaian sellers actually stock.
Canon: the most common office copier in Ghana
Canon imageRUNNER copiers are everywhere in Ghanaian offices, schools and print shops, and that's reflected in our data: Canon makes 13 of the 18 photocopier models we priced. That popularity is itself an advantage: toner, parts and technicians who know Canon machines are easy to find.
Canon also makes desktop laser printers (i-SENSYS) and PIXMA ink tank printers. Compare Canon prices on our Canon price page and see Canon iR 2425 vs 2425i.
HP: desktop laser printers and the widest toner choice
HP is strongest in desktop laser printers and all-in-ones: HP makes 14 of the 19 A4 laser printer models we priced, starting from GH₵1,650. HP toner is the most widely stocked consumable in our index, which makes replacements easy to find. Watch out for fake HP toner, though; our guide on checking toner is original explains HP's security labels.

Canon vs HP: which is better for home use?
For home printing, compare the specific models rather than the brands. In ink tank printers, the HP Smart Tank 581 is faster on black pages, while the Canon G3410 has a higher-rated black ink bottle; both use pigment black for sharp text. Our three-way comparison with the Epson L3250 shows specs, prices and running costs side by side.
For black and white documents, HP's small laser printers are widely sold and cheap to buy; Canon's MF3010 is a common alternative. See our cheap laser printer comparison.
Epson: the ink tank specialist
Epson's EcoTank range is the most widely sold ink tank printer family in Ghana; Epson makes 10 of the 15 ink tank models we priced. Epson also sells photo printers such as the L8050 and L18050, and many sublimation and DTF setups in Ghana are built on Epson printers.
One thing to know: Epson sells different ink codes in different regions (for example 103 for Africa and 003 for Asia), and Ghana's shops stock both. Check which ink your unit takes. See Epson L3250 vs L3350 and our Epson price page.
Is Kyocera a good brand?
Yes. Kyocera is a respected maker of office printers and copiers, best known for long-life drum components in its ECOSYS printers, which helps keep running costs low because you mostly replace toner rather than drums.
In Ghana, though, Kyocera is far less common than Canon. In October 2026 we found no Ghanaian seller publishing prices for new Kyocera machines; the Kyocera listings we saw were used TASKalfa copiers on Jiji. That means fewer shops stock its TK-series toner and fewer technicians specialise in it. Before buying a Kyocera, especially a used one, confirm you can get toner and service nearby.
Canon or Kyocera photocopier?
Both make capable office copiers. In Ghana, Canon is the safer default because toner, parts and technicians are easier to find. A Kyocera can make sense if a dealer near you sells and services it, or if you find a good used machine and have confirmed toner supply. Whatever you choose, follow our used copier checklist and ask the 12 questions before buying a photocopier.
